December 2007

I sincerely hope this finds all of you well and celebrating this joyous time of year. The picture on the card is a very peaceful and serene moment on the Salmon River where we do our outfitting and guiding. I felt it is a very picturesque expression of the peace and tranquility the river, canyon, and mountains afford our guest during their trip and to us on a daily basis.

This time of year proposes a time to celebrate and reflect on the past year. The many exciting and festive moments we shared with our guests is the reward of my outfitting/guiding endeavor and venture. We truly enjoy our adventures with all of you and look forward to another time when you can return and share another exhilarating experience with us. But for the moment, we hope you are all well in body and soul and find ample time to celebrate this Christmas and New Years with your families and friends.

THE LAST RESORT is planning on additions to the Lodge in 2008 which will enable us to better serve all of you, our valued customers. We will begin this spring a new reception/entertainment/conference area followed by a commercial kitchen/ personal residence addition to the current structure. This project is an investment in the future of THE LAST RESORT providing additional amenities and thus expanding our commitment to offer you a quality and affordable premier adventure.

When you find time, check out our web site, www.thelastresortoutfitter.com. You will find that we have added a new adventure involving photography excursions and workshops. I have a resident award winning photographer who will accompany our photo excursions to provide “hands on” techniques to improve the quality of your images. (The picture on the Christmas card is a creative example of her work.) We will also have nationally acclaimed photography instructors conducting our photo workshops which will include basic and advanced techniques needed to become a better photographer. I am very excited to offer this opportunity to our guests! This area of Idaho offers a very diverse and incredible opportunity to capture spectacular images of wildlife, plants, and scenery without having to travel, hike, or boat very far.

Our growth in the fly fishing part of our outfitting business continues to excel at a substantial rate. With the additions to the lodge, we will be able to offer in the near future, fly fishing casting lessons and fly tying instruction beginning in the winter of 2008 and 2009. Regionally and nationally known instructors will educate the beginners and the experienced fly fishing afishionados in their pursuit of the wariest of quarries our waters have to offer.

Of course, we still have our very accomplished whitewater rafting and fishing adventures. Please look for future announcements of hunting opportunities we will be able to offer.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
